Celebrating five years of the Highfield Birth Team

The Highfield Birth Team, based at the Seacombe Birth Centre, Wirral are celebrating five years of serving the community and at the centre. The award-winning team of midwives provides continuity of care through pregnancy and during the postnatal period, meaning that they see a known midwife on every visit, which has been proven to greatly improve a range of health outcomes for mother and child. The midwifery team operate within the centre, as well as offering the option of a home birth.

The 24-hour a day, 7 day-a-week service opened its doors in March 2018, and since then has gone from strength-to-strength, looking after many women and their families across the whole of Wirral. Many women have been looked after by the team, with some mothers being supported through their second or third pregnancies by the team, who are frequently praised for their excellent patient care.
