New Years visit from NHS England Maternity Team

On Tuesday 7th January 2020 the Cheshire and Merseyside Heads of Midwifery and Directors of Midwifery were visited by our Midwifery colleagues from NHS England.
The NHS England team led by Chief Midwifery Officer, Professor Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent OBE also included Jessica Read, Deputy Chief Midwifery Officer and Claire Matthews, Deputy Head of Maternity and Safeguarding Clinical Lead and Margaret Kitching MBE, Chief Nurse for the North.
At the top of the agenda was the key priorities for the Cheshire and Merseyside Local Maternity System. These include:
- The Cheshire and Merseyside Community Hubs Programme - Better Births Report and The NHS Long Term Plan
- Continuity of Carer
- Social Deprivation Agenda - with emphasis on the key findings and recommendations from the MBRRACE-UK Maternal Report 2019
